Three Seats Available On City Council

Three council seats will be determined in an upcoming election. One is a two-year term to fulfill the position vacated by David Sims. The other two seats are currently held by Dave Gray and John Langs, and they will be for four year terms.

By law the City must publish the notice below between August 21, 2009 and August 28, 2009. The first day a candidate can file for election is August 24, 2009, at 8:00am. The final day the City may accept the forms is September 5, 2009, at 5:00pm.

Notice of Candidate Filing Deadline City of Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Notice is Hereby Given: That the general election to be held in and for the City of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. The election will be held for the purpose of electing the following office for the specified terms: City Council Person - 2 year term City Council Person - 4 year term City Council Person - 4 year term Candidates for city elected office are required to file a declaration of candidacy with the city clerk, accompanied by: (1) a nonrefundable filing fee of $40 or (2) a petition of candidacy signed by at least five qualified city electors that has been verified by the county clerk's office.
The deadline for filing declarations of candidacy is Friday, September 4 at 5:00pm. Declarations of candidacy are available at City Hall in the office of the city clerk at 7232 Main Street, Bonners Ferry from the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.
