Exercise Classes Forthcoming

Two classes designed to help Boundary County residents achieve their fitness goals are set to begin in mid-September.

For older adults, the Fit and Fall Proof™ class is designed to improve the health and confidence of senior citizens aged 65 or older. Participants will learn to reduce their risk and fear of falling by improving strength, balance, flexibility and mobility through functional fitness exercises, some of which use resistance bands to increase strength.

Sponsored jointly by the Extension Office, Kaniksu Health Services and Panhandle Health District, the free ten week class will be held in the Panhandle Health classroom on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30am to 11:30am beginning September 14. Please preregister by September 11.

Once again, the Extension Office will be hosting the Strong Women™ program. This strength training program features the use of targeted exercises and free weights to build muscle and maximize bone density creating conditions for optimal bone health in a fun, supportive group atmosphere.

There will be three different classes offered. The Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday class will be held at 6am beginning on September 14. There will be two sessions for the Tuesday/ Thursday class. One session will be at 10am and the second will be at 5:30pm. These classes will begin on September 15.

Strong Women™ will continue for ten weeks and costs $30. Please preregister by September 10.

Call the Extension Office at 267-3235 to preregister for both classes.
