CommUNITY Breakfast Garnered Funds

Breakfast lovers in Boundary County contributed to two great causes at the free CommUNITY breakfast held at the Boundary County Middle School cafeteria on September 19. Due to the generosity of attendees and many businesses that donated gift certificates and merchandise to the Silent Auction, $3,948 was raised to support the Badger Booster Club and the Better Boundary County Coalition's current project to revamp the walking path on the North Hill.

"It's gone really well," said Linda Alt, BBCC secretary."We've had a steady stream of people coming through."

BBCC Vice President Greg Johnson stressed that the donation of all the food by Boundary Trading Company was a tremendous help.

"I have no idea how many have come today but it's probably close to a couple of hundred," said Badger Booster Shawn Watt who was busy cooking pancakes. "We just keep cooking until no one else shows up."

About a fourth of the cafeteria contained tables with a huge assortment of auction items and gift certificates.
