Welco Of Idaho Closes Doors In Naples, Idaho

Welco Lumber Company USA has announced it will mothball its Naples, Idaho sawmill at the end of this year. The 60-day WARN Act notification has been given to each of the mill’s employees.

Although this is not a permanent closure, Welco does not anticipate restarting the mill any time in the near future.

This decision is, in large part, a result of weak demand for fencing products brought on by the sluggish housing market and the recessed economy.

Welco’s ownership and management deeply regret having to make a decision that will put its loyal employees out of work and eliminate a source of employment that has served the unique and incredibly beautiful North Idaho community for many years.
