Hospice Rose Event Scheduled

It's time to buy your Hospice Roses. Roses can be picked up Friday, November 6, 2009, at five locations. This is the 12th year running for this important Hospice fundraiser.

Anyone wishing to contribute to Bonner Community Hospice may order roses for a donation of $20 per dozen.

"Donations are welcome any time of the year, but this is our primary fundraiser; so it's very important to get the word out," said Kathryn Cooke, Volunteer and Bereavement Coordinator for the local non-profit organization. "One hundred percent of the proceeds support clients in Bonner and Boundary counties."

Hospice provides care and support for people suffering from incurable disease. Clients are supported according to their wishes. Hospice care also extends to family members.

"Donated or extraordinary funds go to unique situations when there is a qualified need," Kathryn continued. "One pulmonary patient received a window air conditioner, for example."

To place an order for roses, call Hospice at 265-1185 or visit Bonner General Hospital's Auxiliary Desk any time between now and November 4th.

Rose orders will be available for pick-up at Bonner General Hospital, Boundary Trading Company, Priest River Library, Priest Lake Senior Center and Stoneridge Rec. Center in Blanchard.

"Be sure to check receiving times at your location of choice as the fundraiser is largely volunteer-driven and the times for pickup vary somewhat," Cooke added.

The mailing address for Hospice donations is Bonner General Hospital, Attn: Hospice, PO Box 1448, Sandpoint, ID 83864-0877.
