In April of this year, Laura and Chris Owens’ third child was born early.
The couple’s child weighed two and half pounds and spent a month in the Intensive Care Unit at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Four months later on Monday, Aug. 17, Chris Owens, 30, was working in the woods in the Rapid Lightning Creek area when a log struck him in the chest, breaking his back and severing his spinal cord.
