The North Idaho College Mathematics, computer Science and Engineering Division will host the 28th annual Math Contest November 3 in the Lake Coeur d'Alene Room of Edminster Student Union Building.
High school students from Idaho's five northern counties and Latah County will participate in this competition, intended to encourage students to take an interest in mathematics.
Participating schools include Lake City High School, Coeur d'Alene High School, Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy, Lakeland High School, Post Falls High School, Sandpoint High School, Kootenai High School, Potlatch High School and Timberlake Junior/Senior High School.
More than 100 high school students are expected. They will be tested on topics in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, basic principles of calculus, probability and the math of computers and logic.
At 1 pm, awards will be distributed, including NIC tuition waivers.
