Riverside Reconstruction Roaring Along

Reconstruction is well underway at Riverside Auto Center in downtown Bonners Ferry. Despite the complete destruction of the original building which stood on the corner of Bonner and First Streets, the new building is going up right on schedule.

The installation of the massive truss that fronts the new building on November 20 signalled a major milestone for the project.

"You can finally see progress," said Wendy Hawks, Vice President of Riverside Auto Center. "They have been doing a lot of prefabrication up at Absolute Exteriors, so when they finally put the trusses up, it now looks like something is going on."

Wendy explained that Riverside has used all local labor in the construction project except for the general contractor who is from Sandpoint. She emphasized that they chose the contractor because he was such a good customer and has purchased many vehicles from Riverside in the past.

With a projected completion deadline of mid-February, Wendy is very optimistic about the new building.

"We are planning a big, huge Grand Re-Opening celebration," she laughed. "We are going to invite the entire community to come celebrate with us!"
