Daniel E. Higbee (Dan), age 41, died November 19, 2009 in his sleep. Dan was born August 7, 1968 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. His parents are Thomas (Tom) Higbee and Sally (Chesnut) Higbee. Other survivors are brothers Mark T. Higbee (Annette Reece) and Rusty J. Higbee (Angie Pugh). Nieces Monica, MaKayla, and Marissa; uncles Jay Higbee (Betty) and Glen Higbee (Marbie), and aunt Beverly (Chesnut)Caldwell (Dean).
Dan lived in Coeur d'Alene until 1976 when he moved with his family to Cataldo, ID where he attended Canyon School, Silver King, Kellogg Junior High, and Kellogg High School where he graduated in 1987. After graduation Dan moved to Wallace, ID where he worked for the Jamison Restaurant. During his stay in Wallace he managed to eat a "mountain" of a hot cake which only a few had managed to accomplish. From Wallace Dan moved to Coeur d'Alene and worked for different restaurants there and Post Falls.
Leaving restaurant work, Dan worked for Merritt Bros. in Athol, ID, Idaho Forest Industries, DeArmond Mill, Coeur d'Alene and was employed at Idaho Forest Products Group, Chilco, ID upon his death.
Dan enjoyed the outdoors; camping, fishing and especially dirt bike riding. He also enjoyed trains and had quite a collection of model trains. Dan loved music and had a collection of guitars. He was a member of the N.R.A. and supported the 2nd Amendment.
Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Helen Higbee, and Martin and Vivian Chesnut, aunt Pat (Rinaldi) Higbee, cousin Connie (Higbee) Jones and nephew Justin Jones.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Rose Lake School, Rose Lake, ID at 1pm, Saturday, Decemberr 5, 2009. Donation suggestions are to the Shriner's Hospital, Hospice, Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
