Steed Solos At Boundary County Airport
|
|
"YES!" exclaimed Brigham Steed after successfully completing his first solo airplane landing on Wednesday, December 9, at the Boundary County Airport. The Creston resident then went on to make nine more landings to solidify the experience.
Colder than standard temperatures actually enhanced airplane performance the day of his flight. Prior to the solo flight, Steed's Northern Air Flight Instructor Nathaniel Cheshire asked Brigham if he was comfortable going on his own. In response, Brigham said, "There's no time like the present."
Brigham's next step is learning specialty take offs and landings on short or soft runways. The recent snow should make for good soft practice.
Brigham is enrolled in the upcoming Private Pilot Ground School class beginning January 11, 2010 at Northern Air and plans to continue his training in hopes of a flying career. He's off to a great start.
