The local Experimental Aircraft Association is offering one aviation scholarship for a high school junior. The scholarship ($2,800 value) will include Ground School and flight training through solo*. Books and supplies will also be provided.
Ground School begins Monday, January 11,2010 from 5:30-8:30 pm. Classes will meet once weekly for 15 weeks at the Boundary County Airport Terminal building classroom. Flight training will be scheduled individually with each student.
Requirements to be considered for this scholarship:
Applicants must write an autobiography that includes their birth date.
Applicants must write an essay explaining why they would like to learn to fly. The essay must include applicant's address and phone number.
Applicant's parent(s) must write a letter explaining why their child deserves the opportunity and authorizing their child to take flight training.
Recommendation letters from members of the community are also encouraged.
The student should have a willingness to serve the community at airport functions.

*Up to 20 hours of flight training will be given.
Flight training will commence upon successful completion of Ground School and the Private Pilot written exam.
