Gladys Clare Blake

March 24, 1909 - April 2, 2010

      


Gladys Clare Blake (101) passed away at the home of her daughter in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on April 2, 2010. Private interment will be held in the Grandview Cemetery.

Gladys was born on March 24, 1909 in Deer Park, Washington to Harry A and Myrtle (Cox) Henderson. They moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho in 1917 where she grew up and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School.

Gladys married Dick Blake in 1972 in Reno, Nevada. They owned and operated several restaurants in Troy, MT and Moyie Springs, Idaho.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, El Karrak Temple #6 daughters of the Nile, Kootenai Valley Nile Club, a life member of the Moyea Chapter #31 of the Order of eastern Star and Past Matrons Club of OES.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dick Blake, sister Peggy McElroy brother Alden Henderson sister Iris Sparkman.

Survivors include Nephews: Jack Steele and Jim Sparkman, daughter Michele Stafford, son Zack Blake, granddaughters Stephanie Hale and Melanie Stafford and great granddaughter Jamie Hale.
