Saturday May 1 the Boundary County Museum will be alive with volunteers preparing for the upcoming traveling Smithsonian exhibit Journey Stories. A volunteer training workshop will be conducted from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the new Community Events Center across from the theatre. Everyone interested in the upcoming exhibit is encouraged to attend.
Historical Society Events Hostess Lillie Blackwell will share creative thoughts for how volunteers can make this community project a special event. An overview of the exhibit and programs will be presented by project director Gini Woodward. Museum Curator Sue Kemmis will take participants on an informative tour of the museum and museum library. Historical tidbits and frequently asked questions will be presented by local historian Howard Kent. Volunteer coordinator Colet Allen will outline the activity opportunities available. If you have a few hours a week or are willing to participate at specific programs, your help is needed to highlight this exhibit and the rich heritage of Boundary County.
