The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold two informational meetings regarding 2010 Libby Dam operations. The first meeting will be held Monday, May 17 at 6 p.m. (PDT) at the Kootenai River Inn, 7169 Plaza Street, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and on Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. (MDT) in the Ponderosa Room at the Libby City Hall, 952 East Spruce Street, Libby, Montana.

Federal, state, and tribal representatives will present information on Libby Dam operations for 2010, including an update on current water conditions, hydrological forecast, and operations for fish. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about -- and ask questions about -- operations at Libby Dam as they relate to local and regional issues, as well as fisheries recovery efforts in the Kootenai River basin.

Libby Dam is a multi-purpose water resource developed for flood risk management, hydropower, fish and wildlife, and recreation. A recorded information line on current lake levels and discharges is available at 406-293-3421. More information about Libby Dam 2010 operations is available online.

For more information about the meetings, contact Mick Shea, Libby Dam project manager at 406-293-7751, ext. 211.
