Ballots are now available for the November 2 election to all Boundary County voters who would prefer the convenience of voting absentee.
No longer just for those county voters who would be unavailable to go to the polls on election day, now anyone can choose when to vote by stopping in at the Clerk's Office in the Boundary County Courthouse during regular business hours, or by requesting that the absentee ballots be mailed to you.
You can request the ballots to be mailed to you by filling out an application for an absent elector's ballot, available at the clerk's office or on-line at www.boundarycountyid.org.
One change coming on election day affects voters in the Moyie precinct, whose polling site is no longer Evergreen School. Voters in that precinct will now cast their ballots at the Moyie Springs city office, 3331 Roosevelt Street. Another change affecting all voters in Idaho under a new state law that went into effect July 1 is that all voters will now be required to show valid photo identification or sign a personal identification affidavit before you can cast your ballot.
Valid forms of ID are an Idaho driver's license or photo ID, a U.S. passport or federal photo identification card, a tribal photo identification card or a current student photo ID issued by an Idaho high school or post secondary education institution.
Those opting to sign a personal identification affidavit must swear to his or her identity under penalty of perjury, with is a felony.
To find out more, call the clerk's office at (208) 267-2242.
