Error In Visitors Guide Needs Correction

I was just reading the article printed about Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge in the 2009 "Welcome to Boundary County Visitor and Relocation Guide" and saw that there is an error in it. I believe that this is just a reprint of an article written many, many years ago.

Anyway, in the last paragraph of the article it states: "During hunting season, wildlife viewing and photography are allowed in the waterfowl hunting area on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday." Not only is this incorrect but any person doing such will be considered trespassing in a closed area and could be ticketed by our law enforcement officer!

Only waterfowl hunters are allowed in the waterfowl hunting area and only on waterfowl hunt days, which are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The area is closed to the public in order to allow waterfowl and other wildlife a chance to rest and not be intruded upon by humans. If such constant human intrusion was allowed, then the wildlife would not be here.

In the future, can organizations, companies, etc. be allowed the opportunity to review articles before they are submitted for publication in order to ensure that they are current and correct?

Thanks and other than what is stated above, nice job on the publication. We have a lot to be proud of in our county.
