Benefit for Jim Fries Set

Jim and Cheryl Fries

Plans are being made for a benefit dinner and auction for Jim Fries who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. The event will be held at the Armory on April 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Bob Hovish of Border Bob's BBQ will be catering the dinner. Tickets are $15. The auction will take place after dinner and there will be many great items for sale. All proceeds will go to Jim to pay for medical bills.

In 1978, Jim and Cheryl were a newly married couple and moved to Bonners Ferry to become the new owners of the South Hill Chevron. They had two sons, Jeff and Richard, and the couple had their hands full running an active business seven days a week. Jim enjoys archery and growing dahlias. He and Cheryl work as a team to keep their home and yard looking good. Both enjoy snowmobiling and motorcycling. Jim has been active in many organizations and groups over the years, including the local soccer organization. Their children have grown up amid love and laughter. Jeff and his wife Jenny live in Coeur d'Alene, and Richard is engaged to be married to Brandy July 2009.

All are welcome to attend this event to show support for a man who has contributed so much to our community.
