Mount Hall Volunteer Fire Department Celebration
|
|
Saturday, Mount Hall Volunteer Fire Department's new station in Good Grief was the scene of a gala appreciation celebration in honor of the volunteers that made the new fire hall possible.
Eighty-five area residents and summer people ejoyed Dave Rusauer's wonderful music while enjoying a sumptuous feast of roast beef au jus, roast stuffed turkey and gravy, cranberry sauce, parsley-buttered new potatoes, corn O'Brien, savory green beans, baked beans, rolls and butter, tossed salad, a bountiful array of desserts from local ladies and gentlemen and topped off by a chocolate fountain with cookies and strawberries for dipping.
Chief Brad Lowther and past Chief Bill Branson welcomed everyone to enjoy the hall that their physical efforts and donations made possible. They also thanked event chairperson Linda Corson, co-chair Dolly Boling, youth vice chairman Bradley Thompson and workers Trudy Day, Kathryn Ray, Pat Doherty, Mike Boling, Ken Blockin, Bob Freund, Lori Crane, Michelle Thompson, George Wilson, Boy Scout troop 123, Jill's Restaurant, Good Grief Cafe and Grocery, Bob's Cedar Designs, Arangee Land & Cattle Company, Kootenai Rifle & Pistol Club and may other unsung heroes and heroines.
The fire hall is now home to two engines, equipment and storage. Bill Branson announced plans to make the upstairs into a community center, host a teen canteen, community events, including dances and act as a hall for weddings, birthdays and anniversaries.
