NIC Booster Club auction to incorporate hall of fame induction

This year's North Idaho College Booster Club's annual spring auction and awards banquet will include the induction of the first class of inductees to the NIC Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday, May 2 in the Edminster Student Union Building Ts'elusm Dining Room.

The NIC Athletics Department and Booster Club Hall of Fame Induction, Awards Banquet and Auction will begin with a social and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

NIC Athletics Hall of Fame inductees include former NIC basketball coach and athletics director Rolly Williams, former wrestling coach John Owen, NIC Booster Club supporter Ace Walden, former women's basketball player Darla Smith, wrestlers Steve Gannon and Kenny Rucker, now professional baseball player Jason Bay, track and field star Christine Amertil, soccer standout Brian Farber and former men's basketball players Greg Wiltjer, Gordon Herbert and Robbie Young.

The awards for outstanding male and female NIC athletes as well as the awards for scholar-athletes will be presented as well.

The hall of fame induction was originally scheduled as part of an all-class reunion weekend in April and those who purchased tickets for the original event will be able to use their tickets for the awards banquet and auction May 2.
