Bonners Ferry Beats Lake City JV 4 -2

Awbrey improves record to 2 - 0

The Badger baseball team improved its overall record to 7 - 5 with a 4 - 2 victory over Lake City JV as freshman Alex Awbrey improved his record to 2 - 0.

Awbrey pitched five strong innings giving up only one run while allowing just three hits, striking out three and walking one. Three days earlier, Awbrey won his first high school baseball game.

The Badgers scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when Casey Nelson started off the inning with a walk and Alex Kellogg then singled to right field, putting runners on first and second bases. Aaron Hoisington then hit a double to score Nelson.

Lake City then had three errors in the inning scoring both Kellogg and Hoisington. Bonners Ferry added one more run in the fifth inning when Nelson reached on an error and later scored on Alek Lopez's sacrifice fly to center.

Senior Robby Burns relieved Awbrey and pitched the final two innings giving up one run on two hits.
