Dual Credit Students To Graduate From NIC Before Graduating High School

      Public Information Coordinator

A number of North Idaho College dual credit students are scheduled to graduate from college before receiving their high school diplomas.

These students participate in the WINGS dual credit program at NIC. An acronym for WIN by getting a Good Start, WINGS gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in NIC classes for both high school and college credit, giving them a head start on their college career.

The classes are offered at half the cost of normal college credit and are accessible to students, with classes offered via the Internet and through interactive video conferencing as well as through on-site instructors.

The students who will be graduating from NIC during the May 15 commencement ceremony before graduating from their respective high schools include:

  • Home school student from Hayden Christopher Toscano.

  • Lake City High School student Britany Puzzi.

  • Coeur d'Alene High School student Josh Hardy.

  • Post Falls High School student Kalan Kelly.

  • Lakeland High School student Kimberly Thom.

Each of these students will be available to meet with reporters and photographers in the Sherman Administration Building President's Conference Room at noon Thursday, April 30. In addition, NIC Dual Credit Coordinator Steve Casey will be on hand to provide information about NIC's dual credit program.
