Body Identified



      Investigations Division

The body of an unidentified male recovered Friday, May 29, 2009 has now been identified as Patrick Clifford Opferman, age 51 years old. From preliminary findings of the autopsy, cause of death was accidental drowning. There were of signs of foul play in the death of Mr. Opferman.

Mr. Opferman was reported missing in early December, 2008. Opferman was last seen around November 30, 2008 at the Long Bridge Bar and Grill. It is believed after he left the Long Bridge Bar and Grill he began walking cross the long bridge pathway towards Sandpoint when he accidentally fell over the railing.

Detective Sergeant Phyllis Jay has been working this cse since December, 2008. Even though Mr. Opferman's body has been recovered, Detective Jay is still asking for anyone with information about Mr. Opferman leading up to the day of his disappearance to please call her at 208-263-8417 ext. 3056.
