It's not too early to start getting ready for the Boundary County Fair.
With the theme of "Where We Gather," this year's fair promises to be great fun from start to finish.
Slated to take place from August 19 to 22, all the exhibits and events that we have come to love here in Boundary County will once again transform the fairgrounds into a showcase of local pride, talent and skill.
There will be eight broad categories of Open Class Special Awards given at the fair.
As usual, the fair promises to offer something for everyone from animals and art, cooking, preserving and homegrown produce, crafts and hobbies, sewing, flowers and contests galore
Fair Royalty for 2009 will again be chosen from applicants who are enrolled in 4-H or FFA and are 15 to 18 years old. Applicants attend an interview dinner as part of the selection process. King and Queen selection is based on participation starting from the interview until opening ceremonies. Fair Royalty get the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the fair. The Boundary County 4-H Leaders Association sponsors up to six $100 awards.
Pre-fair events began July 16 and will continue through August 15. Fair events on the first day will begin August 18 at 7am and will close at 7pm that evening.
August 19 through 22, the fair will open at 7am and will close at 10pm. Game and food booths will be open throughout each day. Come enjoy friends, family and food "Where We Gather," at the Boundary County Fair.
